Hosting a bridesmaid luncheon will give you a chance
to honor all of your female attendants and say thank you
for their participation in your wedding and the work they might have already
contributed to it. The bride is normally the hostess but the luncheon
could be hosted
by a close friend or family member.
It usually held a week or two before
the wedding while things are a little calmer. It could be held at a private
home, a club, restaurant, or maybe a spa (for a pre-wedding day spruce
up of facials, makeup and massages). Also,
it doesn’t have to be an actual luncheon. It could be a breakfast, tea, or dinner.
At the gathering, you could choose
to give your attendants their gifts
instead of presenting these to them at the rehearsal dinner.
In the south, its customary
to have a pink cake with good luck charms either baked into the cake or held by ribbons. Each bridesmaid pulls a ribbon
and receives a charm signifying a deeper
message. Some charms
that are normally used are :
·
Heart-love
·
Coin-riches
·
Wishbone/horseshoe-luck
·
Ring-marriage
